Launching for 2025
Ardent Spacers
A sci-fi nerf-based LARP
A Fight for a Brighter Future
Our galaxy is in a fight for its life. Violent alien forces have reached our outer colonies, prepared for war. The planet-eating Scourge sees us only as fuel. The Teir Ascendant, once potential allies, have rejected us and now compete for galactic domination. And the Prime System defends their iron wall around our galaxy’s core, decimating anyone who dares come too close. Dozens of alien planets and empires have joined humanity to fight back, banding together as a Galactic Alliance to counter the inevitable extinction of each of our species. But is it too little too late?
Join the crew of the AES Ardent on their mission to explore and protect the outskirts of Alliance space, reclaiming assimilated planets and uncovering plots that threaten to undermine the core of the Alliance’s bond.
This is a bright, hopeful sci-fi about triumph against a group of enemies set on eradicating what they deem “other”. It is not a grimdark setting, or a tragedy, even if the story may turn darker at points. It is also not a military game, despite the high likelihood of encountering combat on missions.
This short preview is to garner initial interest while the full game brief is being finished. Due to other larp events being run this year by Fakelore Games, there will not be any additional documents published about Ardent Spacers until Summer 2024 at the earliest. If a venue can be found by the end of the year, the aim is to run up to two events a year from 2025 onwards.
This game has been in the making for several years, undergoing many reworks to reach this version, so I’m very excited to finally be able to officially announce it. If it sounds like something you’d be interested in getting involved with on the crew side of things, do let me know! There are quite a few NPC and back-end crew roles needed for the game to run smoothly
