Theodoros of Thebes

Theodoros remembers something
He remembers being executed,  He remembers dyeing fighting scores of Macedonian Hoplites
He remembers old age grieving someone, alone abandoned. this one seems truest and saddest.

Theodoros is old.  Born of Ares and a mortal woman exiled from her home who took up residence in Thebes.
She taught young Theodoros to reject his inner fury and Ares born bloodlust.  Instead guiding him to the wisdom of Athena.
On his Ninth birthday an owl nested in the tree outside his room and he began to dream of a woman clad in glorious panoply with spear and shield
she whispered advice into his dreams even as the owl tooted through the night.

As he grew older he became a skilled worrior and openly praissed Athena and rejected his father Ares.  In response Ares cursed him.

"to know no deed, nor feat of arms, nor song of glory. To die empty of Valour and Courage known"

As he grew despite his great prowess he received little Glory,  but such was his Arete that he attracted a few pupils.

One such was the hero Gorgidas with whom he drove the Spartans out of Thebes and helped found the sacred Band.

For the first time in his life he was happy.  He never rose to fame but those he taught did.  One in particular though he is but a dream a feeling a sense noted by its absence

For Theodoros know he has lost someone. Someone he loves but the memory of who that is has been stricken from him as if Aphrodite herself snatched all knowledge of them.  Except the feeling that they existed.

He remembers the Battle of Chaeronea and the slaughter standing side by side with his comrades in the sacred band bout by agape and mutual Phila.  He was old now though still swifter and more virile then his age ought.  Somehow he survived but bereft of some great thing some inescapable loss consumed him.

He remembers 3 years in exile in Athens with his mothers people and the battle of Thebes thinking Alexander was dead .

He remembers his city falling.

with the aid of a skilled Daimon of the forge he had his shield repaired and enfused with divine power (best card draw and some roleplay)

He swapped out the magical apple and ate it. hoping it would lead him to his hearts desire

Prayed to Athena to bless him and feeling her blessing shrugged of his wounds and felt a spark of divine within him
